Rules for Submissions PDF Print E-mail
  1. All films must be no more than 4 minutes 20 seconds in length (including title & credits), they can be of any genre or type and must be “420” themed:  consider food, clothing, shelter, medical - ie Music Video, Animation, Claymation, Drama, Comedy, Political, Adult – anything goes!)
  2. Films should be digitized to YouTube, entries can then be posted at www.420filmfest.org
  3. Voting is open to the public.
  4. Full quality copies of the production needs to be made available for finalists.
  5. The gala screening of the top 20 online entries will be voted upon by the audience.
    • Screening will be held at The Plaza Theatre in Kensington April 20, 2009 - Doors open at 6:00pm and screening begins at 6:45pm.
    • Audience members will be given ballots
  6. The categorizing of finalists and their order will be at the discretion of the festival producers.
  7. All persons submitting must own the copyright to the films.
  8. By submitting a film to the 1st Annual 420 Film Fest, the submitter agrees to grant 420 Film Fest the right to post said film on their website for up to 21 months in the Festival area. This is NOT to be construed as an exclusive agreement and the submitter retains all rights to sell or distribute said film in any medium including Internet distribution.
  9. I also make the following declarations and agree to the following:
    • I am authorized to submit this film to festivals;
    • I am over the age of 18;
    • The film is not threatened by or currently in any litigation;
    • 420 Film Fest is authorized to place completed film on their web site for voting and archival purposes for 3 years;
    • I have clearances for music used in this film for festival usage;
    • I hold 420 Film Fest harmless from any damages that might occur during the course of filming and/or screening;
    • I understand that 420 Film Fest is not responsible for lost entries.
